Writer’s have a big part in Valentine’s Day. Composing the words to all those love songs, writing lines to romantic poems, sonnets, and of course, the millions of Valentine cards. Steve Harvey, the comedian and radio host, has written a book, Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man.
Some of Harvey’s tips for landing Mr. Right: “We’re driven by who we are, what we do, how much we make.” Harvey believes most men won’t commit until they feel they’re successful. Harvey notes that men, big surprise, love differently than women. “We’ll communicate and nurture only up to a point-those things aren’t in our DNA”. Maybe not, but not all women are nurturers either.
Harvey’s tips are fine, if a bit retro. The best advice I ever got about finding the right guy didn’t come from a book, but from my mother. She said, “Quit looking so hard.” So I did and in the process found the love of me life. If you’re actively looking hard for Mr. or Ms. Right, not only is it a lot of work, but the opposite sex can sense you’re on a mission. More often than not, the object of your affection will flee the relationship faster than you can say, "What do you want for Valentine's Day?"
We didn’t marry until we were 30. By then we’d had experience with other relationships, had held jobs, knew how to balance a checkbook, and had experienced life’s difficulties first hand. But the best part was finding someone we were completely comfortable with, meaning we could be ourselves. And most important of all, we have made each other laugh very, very hard.

Call Me Crazy
As if we don't have enough to do with maintaining blogs, web pages, real life, etc. I've decided to add 15 Squidoo pages to the one and only lens, Hollywood and Catholic Women, I've ever created.
One lens for each of the 15 films films analyzed in the book. Now, this is definitely NOT something that will happen overnight (after all, school starts tomorrow!) but it seemed like a good idea to build companion Squidoo pages to go with the main page. At least, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
We'll see how long the project takes me (I'm betting the majority of spring semester) or how long it takes to drive me crazy, whichever comes first. Once the Squidoo lenses are completed, I just need to come up with a creative way to keep them all updated.
Call me crazy . . .
