A Woman's Write

A Woman's Write is a a consortium of women who write. They've lived, and value and understand the contribution women make to the world, especially in the world of the arts. The women of A Woman's Write know what it's like to feel undervalued and alone, and occasionally to revel in the sense of woman's power and wild exultant truth. They've been on pilgrimages both by airplane and inner planes, looking for their own personal piece of the spiritual landscape. They've fought the good fight with incorrigible husbands, partners, and lovers. And they've had the pleasure of putting it on paper in different ways as amateur and professional writers.

In 2011, A Woman's Write added a new, non-fiction contest,Truth To Tell. Prize money is $300 and the entry fee of $40 includes a detailed critique. The entry deadline for 2012 is August 31, 2012. A Woman's Write also sponsors The Good Read novel competition. Deadline is November 30, 2011 and the entry fee is again $40 which includes a critique. Prize money is $500.

The organization has also launched a new editing site, The Book MD hosted by A Woman's Write editor, Barbara Bamberger Scott. The site is for all writers 18 and over and provides a professional analysis of an author's work, whether it's fiction or non-fiction.
