The Central Coast Writers Branch of the California Writers Club is now accepting submissions for their Spring 2012 writing contest. The contest is open to all work not previously published. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but authors must notify the Central Coast Branch immediately if their work is accepted elsewhere.
Entry Fees
There are two classes of entry fees - member and non-member. A non-member does not belong to any branch of the California Writers Club.
Non-member entry fee: Prose - $10 (fiction or non-fiction), $5 first poem, and $3 for 2nd and subsequent poems.
Member entry fees: Prose - $8 (fiction or non-fiction), Poetry $3 first poem; and $2 for 2nd and subsequent poems.
Prizes
$1000 total awards. Four winners (two in each category of poetry and two in each category of prose) will receive $250 each. The winning entries will be published (print and on-line) in the Spring 2012 Homestead Review produced by Hartnell College.
Deadline
January 31, 2012
Categories
Poetry categories are Unrhymed Poems (free verse, blank verse, cameo, cinquain, haiku, shadorma, story stanze, etc.) and Rhymed Poems (couplet, triolet, triplet, sonnet, rondeau, vignette, etc.) no longer than 50 lines.
Prose categories are non-fiction (essays, articles, memoirs, etc.) and short fiction(writer's choice of mystery, romance, western, etc.) each no longer than 2,500 words.
