The International Women's Writing Guild (IWWG), grew out of three movements when it was founded in 1976. Those movements include:
The Human Potential Movement
The New Age Movement
The Women's Movement
The writing process and these movements go hand-in-hand to enrich the whole person. That wholeness combined with craft is as important to the Guild as is the writing process and creativity in general. Over time they produce individuals and writers who are centered, strong, and open. Additionally, the groups, programs, and conferences sponsored by the Guild are open to all women regardless a woman's professional writing experience.
The IWWG strongly supports all movements for human rights, equality, and valor, but does not organizationally participate in political activity.
In 2012, the Guild is hosting its 35th annual summer conference "Remember the Magic" on the campus of Yale University, in New Haven, Connecticut. Details will be forthcoming in early 2012. The Guild offers conferences and programs throughout the year and there are numerous benefits to becoming a Guild member.
