In recognition of the tremendous impact self-publishing has had on the industry, publishing bible Publishers Weekly announced the launch of Publishers Weekly Select, a quarterly publication that presents self-published books to the PW trade audience.
For $149, authors pay a registration fee to have their book(s) listed in a seasonal supplement that is bound into issues of Publishers Weekly. The registration fee includes a book listing - title, author, illustrator (where applicable), pagination, price, format, ISBN number, and a description of the book's contents.
Each seasonal period, a minimum of 25 of the books listed will be selected by PW's review staff, based on merit, and will be assigned a full review. These reviews will also appear in the supplement and there is no charge for the reviews.
The next reading period runs from March 1 - May 1, 2012 for inclusion in the June 2012 supplement.
